Tatevik Ayvazyan and Nik Matheo
Description
Tatevik Ayvazyan was born in Yerevan and has lived in the UK for over twenty years, working in filmmaking, screenwriting, programme management and digital marketing. With two post-graduate degrees (University of Kent, Catholic University of Leuven), Tatevik comes not only with practical experience but a broad education in social sciences, as well as extensive background in Armenian literature, history and the arts. Her particular passion is Armenian poetry and literary translations which she is eager to bring to a wider public.
Nik Matheo a social historian and political activist. Educated at the universities of Edinburgh and Oxford, his research focuses on the medieval Middle East as seen through Armenian material. His research projects include a forthcoming study and translation of the 11th Armenian historian Aristakes Lastivertsi, and a global history of the city of Ani. Nicholas’ activism focuses on social, political and economic issues in the eastern Mediterranean and Middle East, particularly supporting and raising awareness about the Kurdish Freedom Movement and the multi-ethnic women- and youth-led democracy of North-East Syria.
