How To Get Funded? With Helena Whittingham Founder of Lover Management and aaks
Description
aaks is a student, educator, cultural producer and co-creator of MISERY, a playful mental health community led by and for queer, trans, intersex, people of colour with lived experience of mental health problems, madness, addiction, disability, trauma, & neurodivergence. They started their career as an LGBTQ youth worker, but over the last few years, their work has been focused on collaborating with QTIBIPOC artists and collectives to redistribute wealth and resources and build resilience to sustain grassroots queer, disabled-led and BIPOC collectives. As a Capricorn, they are often dreaming about a world where we do things differently and scheming safe and sustainable ways to make it happen. Trying to understand how to "hack the system" led them to their current day job as the Relationship Manager for Diversity in London at Arts Council England.
