Tour de Moon has been presented at the  International Astronautical Congress in Paris this september 2022 as an example for innovative large scale public outreach in the field of space exploration and education.

The International Astronautical Conference (IAC) is the one place and time of the year where all global space actors come together. IAC is the one place and time of the year where all global space players come together. The most recent editions of the event have attracted more than 6,500 participants from more than 80 countries. Covering all space sectors and topics, it offers everyone the latest space information and developments in academia and industry, networking opportunities, contacts and potential partnerships. Each year, the IAC changes country, theme and local organizer, enabling all to learn more about, and be a part of the world space scene.

The session, titled ‘Space Culture – Public Engagement in Space through Culture’,  focused on the education and outreach activities of institutions such as museums, space agencies and non-profit organizations, which link space education with culture. 

Since 2013, Dr. Ben Hayoun- Stépanian- who is also the director of Tour de Moon- is the Vice-Chair of the IAF (International Astronautical Federation) Technical Committee on the Cultural Utilization of Space (ITACCUS), a member of the IAF Space Education and Outreach Committee (SEOC) and a member of the IAA (International Academy of Astronautics) Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) permanent committee amongst others.
