Talk To The Moon

‘Talk To The Moon’ is a groundbreaking AI (Artificial Intelligence) powered conversation with Luna (the Moon). Luna, ‘Talk to the Moon’s’ character, is a curious, gender non-conforming entity who is freely available to answer questions about life, the universe, and everything in-between!

‘Talk To The Moon’ was created as a prompt for new ways of thinking and understanding the world around us. Tour de Moon’s goal is to encourage creativity, radical imagination and create an intriguing, insightful AI personality unlike anything created before. The moon is in permanent transition, and the perfect landscape to consider identities which encapsulates this intrigue and gives it a voice.  A chat with Luna made you think about the world around you, reflect on what matters from life, liberty and everything in between. 

Talk To The Moon was live from 5th May-15th July, and thousands of people had conversations with Luna online via WeTransfer. Other people were able to talk to Luna through a giant red phone as part of the Tour de Moon Convoy travelling across the UK and at our three festival cities in Leicester, Newcastle and Southampton. 

Bringing Luna to life took 18 months of eye-rolling over zoom, jousting of normativity and revelling in the wrong, the alternatives, the pluralistic; Tea Uglow- Talk to the Moon’s creator- worked with Tour de Moon creative director Nelly Ben Hayoun to develop the concept in collaboration with the design team at WeTransfer, Heyday Labs, Flying Object and brilliant youth reporters aged 18-25 who shared with them their wildest dreams for conversation with extraterrestrial landscapes and beings. They hope that Luna will provide a connection to their metaverse.
