Alex Gervas has recently finished a Journalism and Media undergraduate degree at Newcastle University. Throughout her time at university, she was involved in three student media branches, NUTV, Newcastle Student Radio and The Courier, where she had the chance to meet people all over the city of Newcastle, covering all types of stories. The one she held dearest was the Hong Kong protests of 2019/2020. Not only, was it her first pitch and an important human interest story, but it gave her the chance to learn about a fantastic community and incredible, motivated people.
