A polymath, anti-disciplinary Artist, tech Now-ist and Activist whose work explores the anatomy of transformation and innovation.
Adah Parris’ work sits at the intersection of ancient wisdom, living systems and indigenous community practices, digital and emerging technologies all under the philosophical idea and systems framework that she developed called cyborg shamanism.
She is currently an Artist in Residence at SBCAST (The Santa Barbara Centre for Art Science and Technology). Adah was recently an Artist in Residence on two programmes, The Design Science Studio (Buckminster Fuller Institute) and the Living Collaboratory between the Design Science Studio and the Emergent Media Lab at The University of California Irvine.
In 2021 and 2020, Adah was long-listed as one of the Most Influential Women in UK Technology. In 2019, she was recognised as one of TED Talks Global Emerging Innovators. In 2018, Adah was recognised as one of the UK’s Top 100 Black and Minority Ethnic (BAME) Leaders in Technology.
An enthusiastic curator of people, patterns and stories, she takes a philosophical and anthropological approach to technology; merging logic and creativity to design immersive storytelling, learning and development environments and ecosystems. Transforming her clients and audiences into critical thinkers, philosophers and immersive storytellers, problem-solvers. Innovators.
Adah Parris has over 20 years experience in transforming cultures to nurture decentralised humanity-centred (and now increasingly planetary-centred) innovation environments. Some of her previous clients and partnerships have included Google, Unilever, Sainsbury's, Oath, Ogilvy Labs, The British Council, The EU Council, The Tate Modern, the British Film Institute (BFI), The Union Chapel, Burning Man Camp: Playground, ArabNet Dubai, Innovate Finance, Wayra UK, The Friday Club, The University of The Underground, and Shambala Festival to name a few.
